Arlington Park, located less than two miles from downtown Sarasota, Florida, has a rich history that reflects the city's commitment to providing recreational spaces for its residents. The area was originally developed in the 1920s, but it wasn't until the 1950s that it began to flourish as a residential neighborhood.
The park itself was established in 1979, initially known as "Magic Park." During that year, the playground was developed, and later, the gymnasium and locker rooms were added. The park's amenities expanded to include basketball, racquetball, and tennis courts, as well as swimming pools.
Over the years, Arlington Park has become a beloved community hub, offering a variety of facilities such as a 50-meter lap pool, 25-yard instructional pool, outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, outdoor fitness gym, a half-mile walking trail, and a dog park. Its convenient location and diverse amenities make it a popular destination for both residents and visitors seeking recreational activities in Sarasota.
